Digitalisation
For the public sector, the implementation of new digital processes and the use of e-services, for example in the context of e-government applications for municipalities, are key elements of digitalisation. Intelligent hard- and software as well as the linkage of continually growing datasets unlock considerable economic potential and form the basis for many innovations in the economic and administrative sector and in daily life. Digitalisation takes effect without spatial nor thematical limits – moreover, it increasingly determines the development of regions and municipalities due to new activity and business opportunities for regions, local companies, education, the cultural sector and administration. Therefore, an essential part of our work in regional development is to give advice and support public institutions that enforce digitalisation. In addition, atene KOM GmbH provides great expertise with lectures or professional articles on topics such as Smart Cities or 5G.
We develop and publish studies on digitalisation plans of EU states to give an overview on the status quo of connectivity and the digital development of member states. It is necessary to advance former activities to accomplish the ʺGigabit Society 2025ʺ. One way to achieve this goal is the implementation of a modern 5G mobile network. For this purpose, the prevailing and future roll-out of fibreglass is a crucial building block. With our experience and expertise, we are an important contact node especially for public institutions and other parties of broadband roll-out aiming to open up regional and economic market potentials.
